In Florida the minimum wage is $6.67. I'm 17 and I've been working there for almost two years and i make $7. Besides making sandwiches i also close the store (by myself, no managers). And on top of that, three new employees were hired at $7! Is that fair?|||I dont think its fair at all, but life isnt fair. Still, you should talk to your manager about a raise or maybe start looking for a new job. Let your manager know that you really enjoy working there but you need more money...if he cant give it to you then you will have to leave. It should work. Sad, but most of the time the only way to get a raise is to threaten to leave.|||If you say what you said to us to your manager in cordial terms, and request a raise, they should give you one.|||Sounds like a labor dispute/descrimination if you ask me. There is also an organization called "BBB" which stands for the Better Business Bureau. They help get to the bottom of things for you legally. their website is : www.bbb.org

Of course the first and best action to take here is to communicate your concerns with your supervisor/manager. try climbing the ladder so that someone in management hears you out. Isnt there a protocol for this sort of thing at work? code of ethics or an employee handbook?
Good Luck!!|||No, that is not fair. But it is life. If you have the oppurtunity to do something else for more money then do it. I live in Florida also and think that even working at Firehouse, doing the same thing you make more money. Look around, but stay there til you find something else. This job will look good on your resume after college.|||That depends on a lot of factors. If you think it isn't fair get another job.
